Southern Indiana is home to the Center for Complex Operations at Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck, the U.S. military’s most unique training and testing facilities in the country.

The Southern Indiana Defense Industry Network (SIDIN) exists to attract and support investments and job creating activities made by private sector employers who serve defense and national security interests. SIDIN’s role is to bridge opportunities between the area’s unique properties and private-sector defense and national security interests.

The network is made up of professionals from government, economic development, academia and the military whose goal is to attract and support business investments and foster job-creating activities that are a win-win for businesses and the community.

Greater Columbus Indiana Economic Development Corporation
Founded in 1976 with a mission to build a world-class community emphasizing quality of life, economic opportunity and the personal well-being of citizens, the Greater Columbus Economic Development Corporation has delivered results in attracting community-minded, high value businesses who wish to take advantage of the area’s unique assets supporting advanced manufacturing, design and STEM* education resources. By 2016, it had recruited more than 60 companies directly employing 7,600 individuals, supported more than 300 expansions of local companies and brokered investments of more than $2.6 billion.

Jennings County Economic Development Commission

Located in the heart of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area, with a portion of the Center for Complex Operations at Atterbury-Muscatatuck located in our county, our county is well-positioned to meet the needs of the growing defense industry sector. Working closely with site selectors, JCDC staff provides comprehensive research and demographic information and coordinates between the state and the business for economic incentives. Hoosier Energy
Hoosier Energy is a generation and transmission cooperative providing wholesale electric power and services to member distribution cooperatives. The company delivers power through a nearly 1,700 mile transmission network and serve 18 member electric cooperatives in central and southern Indiana and southeastern Illinois.

Louisville & Indiana Railroad
The Louisville & Indiana Railroad was formed in March 1994 to acquire 106 miles of rail line between Indianapolis and Louisville. LIRC connects with CSX, INRD, NS and PAL railroads. The line serves numerous major companies and an efficient inland port facility. Since formation, L&I has located a number of new industries to its lines.
